Parenting: Expectation vs Reality

Babies really aren’t advertised very well are they?! You think you are getting a well behaved, sweet and innocent little baby, whereas the reality is very different. You may think you know what’s in store, let me tell you, nothing can ever prepare you for what’s to come. I’m going to be divulging into what parents think will happen compared to the complete chaos that actually happens. Birth Expectation: You pack a bag and head for the hospital. The traffic is on your side, and you arrive at the delivery suite in plenty of time. A midwife is waiting for you and ushers you into a quiet room where…

    Relationship Advice for Parents

A couple of months into being a father I began to ask myself a question…why did I feel so distant from my girlfriend? Was it because our son was so high needs? Was being a parent more important to us now? Is this just what happens to couples after they’ve had a baby? For a long time I believed that the answer to the last question was YES. Perhaps this is just the consequence of having a baby. That you would spend the rest of your days tired and unable to function like a normal couple. Baby comes first, everything else just has to suffer for it. This mindset led…

Product Review – Roarin’ Rainforest Jumperoo

The Fisher Price Roarin’ Rainforest Jumperoo was bought for us by my mum and it’s been so good for us that I’ve decided to write this review about it. I can’t fault this product in any way and I would recommend any parent with small children to go out and get one. When we first set it up I had no idea how popular this toy was going to be. Usually kids get bored after a while and move on to the next flashing bouncy toy they see but with the Jumperoo it has been very different. My 4 month old son Austin absolutely loves it and plays in it…

The Bedtime Routine – Tips To Taking Back Your Sleep

Getting your baby to bed (and staying there) can be one of the most challenging parts of parenthood. When you’ve had a particularly hard day the last thing you want is for a disrupted night with very little sleep. It’s going to make you cranky, which will result in a very cranky baby. Not so fun! I’m going to give a little insight into how I have taken action in attempting to create some sort of routine for my baby. I will warn you, these tips won’t work for every child, and probably won’t always work for me, but we can always dream…when we finally go to sleep. Create a…

    Product Review – MyHummy

What is the one thing that every new parent craves more than anything? You’ve guessed it…sleep! It’s the one thing that has us tearing our hair out and sending us into meltdown. Trying to survive on little sleep can be challenging, especially whilst trying to take care of a demanding baby, who really couldn’t care less if you are tired or not. I was convinced that there was nothing that could be done to preserve sleep with a newborn baby, but I was very much mistaken! My partner and I decided to try the MyHummy in a hope that it would make a difference. I was extremely sceptical at first…

2017 – The Good, The Bad and the Mentally Disturbing

Follow my blog with Bloglovin So we are coming to the end of another year. What a year it’s been. So many highs and far too many lows. I’ve never experienced a year with so many changes. My life has completely been turned upside down, shook up until it’s dizzy and then kicked in the balls for good measure. Life Changing News We start in January, and I began the year with an easy one. I was given the news that I was HAVING A BABY!! Not so easy then. I completely bricked my pants and thought that I’d basically ruined my life. It wasn’t that bad thankfully.…

Why Is My Baby Always Crying?

When you are a new parent and you bring home your brand new baby, you would expect that it’s all fun and games from here on in. You’ll be spending your days playing with them and making so many beautiful memories. Wrong. Being a parent is bloody hard work and it’s not always going to be as glamorous as first expected. There’s going to be times when you doubt yourself and times when being a parent is just too much to cope with. I’ve been through these feelings all in the first 3 months of my little boy being born. With Austin, we have been faced with so many problems.…

Product Review – Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine

Tommee Tippee perfect bottle prep machine…or as I like to call it, the clueless dad’s heavenly machine from the gods. I think my name has a much better ring to it don’t you think. This machine has been a life saver for me personally. As a first time dad who was pretty useless when it came to making bottles, this beautiful creation was a machine sent down from the heavens and I couldn’t have managed without it. I will point out that this post is not sponsored and is a completely unbiased review. What does it do? The Tommee Tippee perfect bottle prep machine is designed to make the bottle…
