Can parents still smack children?
Every parents goes about parenting differently. If everyone brought up their children the same way, the world would be a very boring place. I hate to judge the way another parent goes about something, but this is a topic that I feel very passionately about. Smacking children. Is it ever okay? Many parents will argue every point that I make in this post. It’s a topic that is bound to cause debate. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. This is how I feel about the subject, and I don’t intend to hold back. In case you haven’t guessed already, I am strongly against smacking children. Perhaps this comes from…

How To Discipline A Toddler
Finding ways to discipline a toddler can be challenging. Toddlers are sensitive creatures. They start off their journeys with very little social skills and no idea what they are doing. They are basically a little tornado of emotion that is ready to tear down your world in a single bad decision of giving them the wrong coloured cup at lunch time. In this post I am going to be giving some advice on how to discipline a toddler, without mentally scarring them for life. How To Discipline A Toddler What’s important to bare in mind when disciplinig a toddler is that every action, and every word that comes out…

Our Exciting Day Out to Acorn Farm
I recently took Austin on a day out to Acorn Farm in Liverpool. It was such a nice day out. It can often be difficult with a small child to find places to go without breaking the bank. Acorn Farm was somewhere that I came across on Google and I decided we would give it a try. A couple of months ago I took Austin to Farmer Ted’s Adventure Farm which he really enjoyed, so we were eager to see what this one was like. The first thing that attracted me to this farm is how affordable it is to get in. Costing just £3 for adults and £2 for…

Our Enjoyable Family Weekend Away In Rhyl
For Amy’s birthday, I decided to take her and Austin on a family holiday away to sunny Wales. Time for us to relax (as much as you can relax with a stroppy toddler) and spend time together as a family. Our busy work schedules mean that short breaks like this are hard to come by, so we were going to savour every second. I chose Rhyl, in Wales as it was a short distance away (again with the stroppy toddler in mind) and it was a reasonable price for what I could afford. As expected, the trip had it’s surprises. It usually does when the Yules are in town. We…

Screen Time – How Much Is Too Much For Children?
Children’s screen time. Are we educating our kids with useful information? Or are we just frying their brain cells? It’s a topic that is debated by pretty much everyone. Parents, professionals, non-parents who think they are professionals. Literally everyone has an opinion on how much screen time children should have. You won’t find a definitive answer though, it all comes down to personal preference. I decided to do some research into the topic to find out what other parents think, and to give an insight into my own views on children’s screen time. The reason that I decided to look into this topic came from a new study from the…

You know the theme songs for every programme on CBeebies Do you ever find yourself with a quiet minute to yourself in the day, sat quietly with only your thoughts to occupy you? Sharing Isn’t Always Caring
Sharing can be a difficult concept for young children to understand. We expect them to give something that they really want to someone else, just because they want it too. One thing I will not be doing as a parent is forcing my little boy to share his things. Most of the time, he will share his toys with me and with other children, which I want. I want him to be able to feel okay with the decision that he is making. If he doesn’t want to give me something though, I won’t be forcing him to. I’ve heard it many times, when an adult tells a child that…
