Blogmas Day Twenty: My Goals for 2019

Yesterday I looked back on 2018, you can read all about it here!

For today’s post I am going to be making some goals for the new year. At the start of my Blogmas journey I made some goals for December, which have had mixed results so far. I have decided that I will set myself some targets for 2019 so that I can motivate myself to achieve everything that I want to achieve, and make the year one to remember. Here are some of the targets that I have set myself…

Be More Active On Social Media

This is something that I really struggle to achieve on a day to day basis. My busy work schedule and my parenting responsibilities at home mean that I’m often absent from my followers for days at a time, and I find that my growth is often hindered by this. Promoting yourself on social media is one of the most important jobs for a blogger, and without your following, you really are going to struggle.

In the new year, I want to organise myself better so that when I am busy at work, I can still find a way to post on social media and keep my engagement high. This means posting at least once a day on Instagram (which has been impossible to crack thus far). Also, I want to start using Pinterest more as a lot of bloggers have really grown their blog from the use of Pinterest. This is something I really want to get on board with.

Increase My WordPress Following

This also links to my previous goal, but I would like to increase the amount of subscribers that I have on WordPress, so that more people are able to see when I post new content by automatically sending them an email. I am currently stuck on a pathetic 22 subscribers which is very low. I want to have at least 5 times as many followers by the end of the year and make it into triple figures.

If you are interested in subscribing to my blog (for free by the way) then you can do so just by going to my blog’s home page and entering your email address into the box on the side. You will never miss another one of my posts ever again!

Find More Time To Write

Finding the time to sit down and actually write on my blog is near impossible. I am often resorted to writing after a long day at work and my content is often rushed so that I can get to bed! It would be nice to just sit down with a cup of tea and just relax and take my time to plan posts and then write them without having to worry about what time it is. I understand that working full time and being a parent will make this goal very difficult, but I am hoping that I can make some more time to treat my blog a little better. Which leads me onto my next goal…

Going Solo

I have often thought about working for myself and being my own boss. As many people know, I currently work in a nursery which I do enjoy doing, but there’s always a thought in the back of my mind wondering if it’s the job that I want to spend the rest of my life doing. The answer is simply no. My goal in 2019 is to start up my own childminding business. Working from home, taking care of children, spending more time with my son, it’s a no brainer. I have already started researching how to go about setting it up, I just need to start putting plans into actions.

Sometimes in life you need to take a leap of faith, and I may have to do this with this goal. I have no idea if it will work out, or if I will even have any potential parents interested in leaving their children with me, but it’s something I am planning on finding out.

Making A House A Home

My final goal for next year is to turn the house that we will be moving into on the 5th January into our new home. I want it to have a personal touch that makes it somewhere that we can feel comfortable in, and spend many happy years there. I want to completely change the garden from the busy, messy look it has, to an open grassy area for Austin to play in.

It will be a relief to get into the house, and start to mould it into our little home. Buying your first house is a massive step, and one that I am very excited about.

For tomorrow’s post, I have a very special Christmas themed interview with a very special person in my life.
